I come back to Eames when a room needs one object that already knows what it is.
Charles and Ray worked as a pair from the 1940s onward, mostly with Herman Miller in the US. Their furniture is less about luxury staging and more about moulded wood, clear joints, and seats people actually sit in. I link authorised pieces when I can prove them, and I mark lookalikes similar to.
How I read their style

Compound curves in plywood and honest leather beat decoration every time.
Look for shells that wrap the body, slim metal or wood bases, and materials that show age rather than hide it. Warm walnut and black leather fit the rooms I write about. Cold grey showroom shots do not.

This is still the reference lounge for leather and plywood together.
Herman Miller, and Vitra in Europe for authorised editions, hold the real line. Stock photos almost never show the stamp. Caption similar to unless there is a clear product path. A hollow replica fails at the tilt mechanism and the leather thickness.

The dining shells taught a generation how thin a chair can be.
DCM (metal legs) and wood-leg cousins like DSW sit under countless tables. I use similar to for most stock dining shots. The DCM and DSW product rows will replace these placeholders when they exist.

Office chairs that still look like design, not like task plastic.
The Aluminium Group (1958) is the quieter Eames piece people forget. Leather pads on a polished frame. Mark similar to on stock unless Herman Miller or Vitra is confirmed.
